Hello again. I’m going to try and resurrect this little travel blog of ours and turn it into a life blog.  I’ve got a few reasons for writing again, so let me explain.  First of all, more people than I could have imagined have read about our travels via this website.  Friends have passed it onto other friends and a great many people have told me that they really enjoyed reading about our journey.  People have told me that I should write a book  or to at least compile all of the blog entries into book format.  Now, I don’t think that my writing is particularly good, but when enough people tell you something, you should probably stop to consider whether or not they are correct.  I don’t think that I’m about to write a travel book, but I can have a go at writing a blog.  If I can keep people interesting in the adventures of two strangers hopping across distant lands and doing nothing particularly outrageous or death defying, then why can’t I get people interested in our adventures back in the real world.
The other reason for writing is that I have a lot to talk about. Â Being back in London has allowed us to process a lot of what has happened to us over the last couple of years and has made us really think about what life is all about. Â We’ve been thinking about where to live, what jobs to have (or even to have jobs) what to make of the so-called financial crisis, religion, the state of human liberties in the western world, alternative ways of making money and so many other things. Â
I don’t really have a particular aim from this site. Â I would like to throw my thoughts out there for people to read and discuss. Â No one has to agree with my particular way of thinking, nor do I expect you to. One thing that traveling has taught me is that differing opinions are great. Â Following the herd only ever takes you on the quickest route to the slaughterhouse. Â
I used to hate blogs. I thought that they self-indulgent and for people with no social lives.  But since I’ve been back, I’ve been spending  time reading a lot from bloggers and alternative news sources.  I used to be a big newspaper reader and news watcher.  Not having constant access to the news while on the road made me realise that most of what you read day after day in the paper is meaningless crap that only re-hashes the same mainstream ideas over and over and twists them in such a way as to sell more papers and to make us think in a particular way.  I’m really glad to have access to, via the internet, differing opinions on what’s going on in the world.  Maybe I will be able to make my own small contribution to the “blogosphere.”  I’d like to use this site not only to discuss my thoughts and ideas about things, but also to share interesting websites, or sources of information that I’ve found that I think might be of interest to people. Â
If you’ve been following our travel blog, I hope that you will continue to follow the life blog. Â (that sounds incredibly cheesy doesn’t it?) Â It’s probably going to be a bit disjointed and random at times, and I don’t know if anyone is actually going to read it, but you never know. Â If you think it’s interesting, please tell your friends (and get them to click on some of the advertising; you never know, I might even get paid for my troubles.) and do leave comments if you have something to say. Â
I’ve redesigned the site a bit, so comments about that are welcomed too. Â I’ll continue to send out email updates, so if you don’t want those then remember that you can unsubscribe from the bottom of the email. If you don’t want emails you can always RSS using the enormous RSS button in the title header.Â
That’s it. Â You’ll hear from me again soon.

Welcome back Len!
I can always count on you DK!
Hi Len and Michaela,
I am so glad you are blogging on. I always looked forward to reading about your travels. I felt as if I were travelling with you.
Love Auntie
Ha ha ha ha!!! I just read the comments under your “Crazy People” post! It seems that maybe too many people are reading your blog Lenny Boy! I actually remember the hostel well myself… and you’re not wrong!
Night out soon – and get DK along too.
Dan
I LOVE reading about you’re adventures!!! Real life has them too!! Keep it up and yes you should write a book. My co-workers love when i come to work with stories of your adventures
I look forward to your ramblings & insights as well. People make life more complex then it needs to be & then proceed to complain about it. Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS)comes to mind more often than not. So lay it out there cause I’m more than willing to read it & share it as well.
Take Care
